Spring 2023 Auditions: This semester, all a cappella groups are holding In Person Auditions.
Here is what the process will look like:
- The sign up process begins Thursday, February 2nd at 10pm.
- Thursday, February 2nd : Watch the Fall Rush Concert to learn about and hear from each of the groups! When you have decided which groups you would like to audition for, check out what those groups are expecting for your audition (you can find this information on the groups social media channels). Make sure to sign up for auditions after the concert!
- Sunday, February 5th - Monday, February 6th: Auditions will be held IN PERSON in the music building.
- Monday, February 6th: You will hear back from groups about callbacks by this night. Keep a close eye on your email and your phone!
- Tuesday, February 7th - Wednesday, February 8th: Callbacks. Callbacks will be held IN PERSON in the music building. Should you receive a callback, your group will let you know what they expect in your callback audition. Callback rooms will be posted soon.
- After your LAST Callback: Fill out a Preference Sheet that the last group you're being called back for hand you. For example, if you audition for 3 groups, your preference list will list these 3 groups in order with your first choice, second choice, and third choice. If you DO NOT want to be in a group, you should leave that group off of your preference list. Once filled out, you will return this sheet in an envelope to that group and they will pass it on to our president. The president and VP will be the only people to see this list (besides yourself). If multiple groups want you, they will open your preference sheet, and you will go to the group highest on your list.
- Sunday, February 5th: (For those with extenuating circumstances that make them unable to make it to in person auditions) Submit your audition videos and accompanying Google forms to your chosen groups, BEFORE 11:59 PM. You can submit these videos by uploading them to the group-specific Google Forms found in the Auditions tab, or sending them directly to your chosen group's email address if you have an issue with that (find email addresses under the "Groups" tab of this site).
I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music. -Billy Joel
